At the age of 104, olive waddell relates her introduction to girl scouts. it was the mid 1940s and the war was coming to an end. she was a young adult when she went to the only high school in rosenberg to recruit the area's first official girl scout troop. "we started with 15 girls, " said waddell. "the people from girl scout headquarters came down to help us get started and learn how to do things the girl scout way." although there wasn't a girl scout campsite in the area at the time, waddell and her troop were welcome at a local campground. "the leaders would sleep in the lodge building and the girls would set up the tents. since their brothers were in boy scouts, the girls learned from them. unfortunately, that first time, they hadn't quite figured out everything they needed to know to secure the tents. so, later that night, their tents blew down, " she said. waddell doesn't get to see her "girls" often but enjoys the opportunity when it comes along. "we just cry, hug, and kiss each other and talk about the good old days, " she said. "i still have plaques and certificates on my walls showing our troops' accomplishments." approaching the age of 105 in march 2008, waddell is one of the council's golden friends. if there is another girl scout in the council whose memories as a girl scout precede waddell's, the council is not aware. gssjc is seeking out local alumnae to reengage them and hear their stories. to join the girl scouts of san jacinto council alumnae association, alumnae are encouraged to visit gssjc and fill out the alumnae form on the homepage or call 713-292-0358 to have an alumnae card mailed to them.

This paper has described an approach for identifying and correcting inconsistency and incompleteness across uml views, in particular use case diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, and statecharts. the rules for describing the mapping between these different views are derived from the comet method, which uses the uml notation, and are expressed as object constraint language ocl ; constraints enhanced with action clauses. the approach has been illustrated by means of a case study. during this research, we realized the need for some enhancements for the ocl syntax such as in the action clause proposed by [13]. the issue is that an action clause with if condition to recipient send operation is to be fired when the boolean condition condition becomes true first. this is problematic when a frequent activity needs to be specified at a higher level without resorting to specifying details. we also noticed that the translation of information captured in statecharts and sequence diagrams to ocl can be done in many ways, and thus calls for some methodological discipline. secondly, as shown in examples of [13], we encountered some situations where post-conditions may need to include an action clause and card games for 2.

Sultations that were facilitated by unicef offices and various partners. this broad process of consultation was the key strategy that ensured that the final recommendations in this report are firmly anchored in the reality of children's lives at country level. some forms of violence, such as sexual exploitation and trafficking and the impact of armed conflict on children, have provoked international condemnation over the past decade. the recognition of these extreme situations has helped to bring children's concerns high on the international agenda. however attention to violence against children in general continues to be fragmented and very limited different forms of violence in the home, schools, institutions and the community are largely ignored in current debates in the international community. family units are the best providers of physical and emotional care for children. schools have a fundamental role in ensuring the development of children's potential while protecting them. but it is governments that have the responsibility to build a solid legal framework and to provide the support needed by families, schools and communities to adequately fulfil their role. appropriate legal frameworks are vital to ending violence against children, but preventing and responding to violence does not mean adopting unilateral, tough or repressive measures. moreover, if these measures violate the rights of any group of citizens, they are never going to be effective. this is particularly serious when countries face the challenges of growing levels of violence and crime. if governments are committed to ensuring safety, it is clear that this is not going to be achieved by locking up adolescents under appalling conditions, by condoning the use of violence by agents of the state, or by weakening civil and political rights. this study demonstrates that effective responses to violence involve comprehensive efforts, combining long-term investment in prevention, challenging attitudes which condone or support violence, reliable data collection, and improving the functioning of state institutions and ensuring accountability. as nelson mandela has reminded us, violence thrives in the absence of democracy and respect for human rights. violence against children persists as a permanent threat where authoritarian relationships between adults and children remain. the belief that adults have unlimited rights in the upbringing of a child compromises any approach to stop and prevent violence committed within the home, school or state institution. for lasting change, attitudes that condone or normalise violence against children, including stereotypical gender roles, need to be challenged, our failure to listen to children has resulted in a failure to respond to their needs. it is hard to understand why and how adults can continue to argue that children should have less protection from violence than adults do: in law, in policy and in practice. i sincerely hope that this study will be a watershed in ending the double standards and compromises that have existed for far too long and classic card games.
Example 2: anna begins her journey at her river village by playing 2 raft cards: one for the village and one for the sea monster obstacle that doris played there; she collects 2 gold. then she visits bob's forest village by playing 2 unicorn cards: one for the village and one for the tree obstacle that carl played there; she collects 8 gold 4 doubled because of her gold card ; . anna continues her journey with carl's desert village. she plays a single dragon card to visit the village, but must also pay bob two gold coins for the thieves she encounters there; she collects 6 gold. she moves on to carl's plains village, playing an elfcycle card and collects 3 gold. finally, she visits doris' mountain village by playing a magic cloud card and collects 5 gold. since she has visited every village, she earns a bonus of 10 gold for a total of 32 gold pieces for her journey! she earned 34, but lost 2 to the thieves.
G: i read on your website that you started off with classical violin lessons. what brought you to old-time music? j: well my dad was trying to teach himself to play when i was about 4 years old. and i was at the age where i wanted to imitate everything my parents were doing. so dad cut me out the shape of a cardboard fiddle and i so-called played on that until i was 6.and when i was 6, dad found a man who wanted to trade a fiddle for something. and dad carved limestone. so dad carved him a limestone birdbath with a fiddle in the middle of it and traded that for my first fiddle. g: were your arms long enough to play it? j: yes it was a quarter size. so we found a teacher who taught classical at first, it was suzuki, you know. g: suzuki can be kind of rigorous, how did you feel about it? j: at first we all thought it was a big mistake. but now that we look back at it, that gave me everything i needed for when i started with the old masters here. g: you live in west virginia? and yugioh card game online.

[asc leiden abstract] 180 yahya, maryam polio vaccines - "no thank you!": barriers to polio eradication in northern nigeria maryam yahya - in: african affairs: 2007 ; , vol. 106, no. 423, p. 185-204. this article is an analysis of the boycott of the polio vaccination campaign in northern nigeria, which has indefinitely stalled global polio eradication targets. the polio immunization drive was brought to a standstill in july 2003 as religious and political leaders in northern nigeria responded to fears that the vaccines were deliberately contaminated with anti-fertility agents and the hiv virus. the article explores the political and cultural angles of this controversy, revealing deeper dimensions that have contributed to the rejection of polio vaccines in northern nigeria. in doing so, it argues that there is an underlying logic to public anxieties often dismissed as 'anti-vaccination rumours'. although the polio vaccine boycott has proved costly in both economic and human terms, it has opened important lines of communication at global and national levels, potentially deepening dialogue, participation and sensitivity necessary for global health campaigns. although immunization comes with countless benefits, it is a complex and difficult health strategy to enforce. decisions on broader health as well as immunization goals are often made at a global level to be incorporated and adapted into 117.

Welcome to the candy apple, my attempt to keep things light around here. we'll miss our longtime columnist tom iovino's apple cider1 column, but we look forward to hearing his occasional random squeezings now and then. last month, the academy awards were handed out for films released last year. the award show ran too long, as always, but it was worth the wait. for my first venture at an atpm column, i thought it might be fun to choose some of my own awards. since i didn't hire an accounting firm to count the votes, feel free to presume that some tampering went on. in case it matters, i'm using a g3 yosemite blue & white tower ; with mac os 9.1, 350 mhz, and 704 mb ram. but i really want a new machine, so if anybody has an extra ibook or new imac with those kinkable, dancing monitors, i'm available! the awards.
Intervention --in place of governmental support there is now a calculated drive to support through private sources. in this environment the concept of `attention economy' has truly reached private industry. if you take a closer look at the activities of companies such as glaxo welcome you quickly arrive at the depressing conclusion that they tend to buy or support anything that will carry their name, however controversial it might be, simply for the sake of attention. and for them that makes sense. when dealing with dodgy ways of making money, the company can easily use art to associate itself with a critical platform of debate, so connecting their own product line to the process of discourse while maintaining a safe distance from any self questioning, as such having little to lose. critical work bought by the person you intend to throw a brick at says more about the art system than the company. keep on moving. artist-run-spaces, unite! at the end of the weekend there were clear plans to continue the tradition born through the event. what form such a continuation should take is unclear at this present moment. there were thoughts to carry the initiative towards east europe, but it might be just as interesting to carry it south. at this meeting the constellation of spaces present did represent the wider network of where it was held, stockholm in scandinavia. in doing so fesars managed to stay realistic. any attempt to plan such a european wide event and keep the question of equal representation in mind would be bound to fail. so the further development of this loose network will mainly need to deal with issues of inclusion on an organisational level. given the reality that most of the participants will have changed their commitment by the time the second esars takes place, and most likely that some of the organisations will have ceased to exist as well, the continuation of this seminar will depend on the outline which it intends to give itself. this year in stockholm a grand gesture was made. the next step would possibly require what had been stated earlier about the reality of artist-runspaces: institutionalisation. with the bureaucratic burden which would come out of such a european network, the most essential objective would be the definition of a clear purpose, and the development of a pragmatic way of how to achieve this and wars trading card game.
Significant progress is being made on the 240 million grand arcade project, located on regent street. this was recently celebrated by a ground breaking ceremony, lead by the duke of westminster. he sat at the controls of a piling rig to sink the final concrete foundation pile, which will support a development spanning seven acres. the duke of westminster has an important input in the project, as the owner of grosvenor, which is working in a joint initiative with the universities superannuation scheme [the pension scheme colleges throughout for cambridge.] grosvenor has been a notable presence throughout cambridge in the last thirty years, being the force behind the grafton centre and also sponsoring a cambridge "grosvenor" fellow in pembroke college. nick abbey, project manager for bovis, the contractor for the project, views the grand arcade project as creating "minimum disruption and maximum advantages for the city." in light of the disruption it may cause colleges, and the working life of the university., it has been.
