Yeah, the students--remember us? we are the reason you people are here. it seems like while you have been busy demanding information or refusing information, you forgot that there is a much larger, and, dare i say, more important group than you. i've read through hundreds of documents, and students are mentioned infrequently. what's even more insulting is that when we are discussed, we're used as a prop to set up some long tirade about how bad the situation at the school has gotten. let's set a few things straight here. first off, many students don't even know what's going on. it's not because this is all secret. we've been reporting on it for months. it's because they couldn't care less about what looks like a petty fight between the faculty and the administration. most students can't remember what the name of the college president even is probably because it took nearly two years for a well advertised meet and greet ; . so don't try and throw the students in to this like any of you are fighting this hard for our best interest. how much time and money has been poured into legal fees and investigations? what has been the cost to the students here, directly or indirectly? how much time have administrators, faculty and staff had to divert to this issue? what percentage of time spent in board meetings is expended on this subject? it's pretty obvious that neither side is going to give in. everyone is far too stubborn to admit that the other side may be right on some issues and they are wrong on others. so what's the next course of action? it's really very simple. shut up. that's it. just stop bringing this crap up. full-time faculty, you got your vote of no confidence in. we know you dislike richart. and the board of trustees responded to it, though maybe not in the way you would have hoped. honestly though, you got the same treatment nearly every community college gets. and board, you can keep staying tight lipped, refusing to humor the faculty by at least trying to discuss the issue, just don't be surprised when the faculty and community start voting in more trustees like judy strattan. so do what you guys need to do. plan your revolution, fight the fine fight, or whatever other delusion you people have. just please, do it silently and rules for craps.
But what about platt's second law? the amount of crap in the universe is conserved; see chapter 1. ; if i have less crap to deal with--for example, if i no longer have to worry about freeing memory that i've allocated--whose head did that crap get dumped on because it didn't just disappear? in the case of , it got dumped primarily on two sets of heads, namely microsoft's and intel's. all of my readers who work for sun just stood up and cheered. both of them. ; in microsoft's case, the operating system itself got harder to write. an automatic garbage collection mechanism like the one in is several orders of magnitude harder to write than a simple in-out heap manager of the type that windows 2000 contains. since microsoft hopes to sell millions of copies of , they can afford to hire lots of smart programmers and engineer the heck out of it. this division of labor--letting microsoft develop infrastructure while you worry less--makes economic sense. in the case of intel, the new framework will keep them busy producing faster cpus and more memory chips. applications built on will run slower in some operations than those that aren't, but they'll be easier to write and debug. sophisticated garbage collection requires more computation than simple heap allocation, just as an automatic seatbelt requires more parts than a manual one. plus, since garbage collection doesn't take place as often, your computer probably needs more memory so that your app still has enough while objects are hanging around waiting to be garbage collected. remember grosch's law? go check the end of chapter 1 if you don't. ; but i don't think that the additional memory and cpu cycles a program requires are being squandered, as they are on that stupid dancing paper clip in microsoft office. i think they're being wisely invested, saving you time and money by letting you write code faster and with fewer bugs because the operating system is doing more of the scut work for you. an application using a general disk operating system will never run as fast as one that programs absolute sector and track disk head movements. but you can't afford to do that; it takes too long, it costs too much, and you can't manage very much data. you'll spend all your time on the silly disk sectors and never get any paying work done. once it becomes possible to abstract away these infrastructural problems, doing so becomes an economic necessity. if your own memory management was working well enough, you wouldn't be spending your debugging time tracking memory leaks.
The building block approach to genetic programming bgp ; has been developed specifically to evolve decision trees for extracting rules from data [68, 69]. the main objective of the building block approach is to construct solutions incrementally, starting from simple solutions, increasing the complexity of individuals where needed. the building block approach is trying mainly to achieve one of the objectives of re, namely to produce simple rules. this section gives an overview of bgp as follows: section 3.2.1 provides a philosophical discussion of the building block approach. a summary of critique against bgp is presented in section 3.2.2. sections 3.2.3 to 3.2.12 review the general architecture, fitness function, operators, termination criteria, and strategies used with bgp. 3.2.1 philosophical motivation for the building block hypothesis humans have, over time, evolved several approaches to solving complex problems. one technique is to reduce such problems to simpler, more manageable ones that can then be solved more easily, or for which the solution is already known. in order to survive and prosper, humans have also developed skills to identify and recall problems and their solutions concepts ; . the process of identifying and recalling problems and their solutions is generally known as gaining experience learning ; . the learning process occurs mainly in three ways, namely learning of concepts through one's own experience, learning of concepts by example, or through being taught such concepts. in order to illustrate the learning processes, consider the example of one's hand being burnt by fire. own experience is gained by burning one's hand with fire. seeing how and craps table layout.

You know, they were coated in some kind of white slard and had multi-colored, crunchy dots all over them like the polar bear-esque animal in the dr. suess-esque kids book "i want to be in the zoo" ; . anyway, yeah, id pick every little bear and lion and hippo out first and hoard them from my sister, leaving those chocolatey faux-oreos and the other reject flavors for her. it used to piss her off, too. still does. so imagine my surprise and delight when i discovered sprinkle spangles, a breakfast cereal made up of what looks to be my favorite childhood cookies -- circus animals! yes! well, they dont have the white slard, and theyre in the shape of little stars rather than actual animals, but still. i was beside myself with curiosity and excitement. i wanted to give this cereal a good review, man, i really did, but i also wanted to be completely honest and unbiased by childhood memories. i canceled all my appointments one weekend and spent practically all my free time slurping down fat bowlfulls of sprinkle spangles, tasting each puff and testing the milk for proper flavor residue. in front of the television, on the phone, while doing homework, i finished the entire box of sprinkle spangles in one weekend binge. and you know what i found? this shit is just plain awful! yuck, every single spoonful of this tasteless, soppy, rip-off crap is worthless! i would have had more flavor if id ripped the packaging material into little bite-size pieces and slathered it in milk rather than wasting my time ingesting this weak, fucking nasty, stupid-looking, yucky, disa-fucking-pointing dreck! thats the thing about childhood memories. these companies mine our most golden thoughts and distort them and throw them back at us in full expectation of a feeding frenzy. forget it! sprinkle spangles is a hoax! sprinkle spangles is a freemarket economy gone bad! sprinkle spangles is satan! go buy something else instead, and keep the joys of your formative years intact and running martingale.
10 times before. grant's character is trying to write a song for the first time in his life but doesn't quite have a way with words so in walks gardener barrymore to water the plants who surprise surprise just happens to be an exceptional lyricist. they work together to produce a not so crap song and get down and dirty at the same time. didn't see that coming. go see this if you enjoy brainless nonmeaningful movies, but i'd save my money to be honest, especially with some of the other top quality movies on show at the moment. good film for a valentines date i suppose, no need to pay much attention so one could busy themselves with other activities ; ; otherwise its pointless and forgettable and quite frankly i wouldn't bother. emma o'callaghan.
Despite our previous efforts to make it clear that chat rooms are the property of their owners, who determine for themselves the house rules for these cyber-lairs, and that what happens in them has nothing to do with the church of satan, we continually receive complaints about the way people interact in these places. when people were dissatisfied with a particular chat room, they were told to form a new one of their own, which would then be their own place in which to chat with their friends and colleagues. this pertained to any and all members, and was not a "special mandate" that in any way singled out a room as being "officially endorsed." this statement was willfully distorted by some members. we have observed this mode of communication, which originally was intended as a means for those who enjoy each other to carry on an online conversation, degenerate into a form of territoriality in which participants in different rooms form cliques and then try to act as if this is some sort of factionalism in the church of satan itself. it is not; it is simply childish behavior on the part of members and even titled officials of our organization and craps tips.
A third broad justification for broadband, says harvard's palfrey: to attract and retain today's "digital natives" --young people who grew up in a wired environment and now "fully expect to get all the material they're seeking, serious or amusing, through these pipes." but there's a fourth and often overlooked plus to high-speed internet, notes craig settles, author of a new book that tells the philadelphia story: "fighting the good fight for municipal wireless." it's the immense value that broadband can deliver to government--state or local. the significant up-front costs to building a city-wide network--in philadelphia's case some million to million--can quite quickly be amortized by increased efficiency of the city workforce. philadelphia has over 2, 000 employees working the streets--parking meter readers, building inspectors, social workers, fire and police officers. using wifi devices, paperwork time drops quickly, productivity rises sharply. houston, settles reports, is instituting a wifi connected parking system and expects its smart meters to cover the entire citywide system build out in eight months. the business model for government operations is compelling, says settles: if government saves enough money on its day-to-day operations, it can justify deploying a wifi network, at minimal ex and craps table layout.

Run adding to all the pots. this only occurs on occasions and doesn't guarantee a good win but could indicate an oncoming streak. exchanging from good wins for the feature can be an easy jackpot or give better wins easily but you can decide whether you think it is worth it also when you exchange cash goes up 1 straight away. you will sometimes get a true skill gamble if you take a pot or get a gamble to the jackpot and this machine does let you win the last gamble from 8 to 15 the cash trail unlike many older 10 machines which were converted to 15. the features pound run- usually 1-3 pile of crap never take gamble rise and fall- easy 2 but can be 3 amounts go to the same level so don't just hit it step to nearest- can give big game and be manipulated for good wins from bonus nudges knockout skill- can be v. good, no skill involved but give 3 + nearly every time bar stepper- 3, 4, 5 steps to nearest can be manipulated from bonus nudges cash skill- not really true skill but the higher you hit it the more it is likely to give it seven stepper- manipulate it with bonus nudges beware or mixed but 2, 7, 8 v. good super hold- can be good if decent win is near, sometimes big game + again you can use bouns nudges cash hunter- usually 4 + rep not v. good for such a high feature. gamble it unless super hold is only a crap win cash crazy- seen this on before on older barcrest machines keeps popping up ; i had true skill to the top on features and collected this feature gives multiple win spins 15 + usually other information the machine will sometimes give 1, 2, 3, nudge s ; next which can be manipulated for a better chance of a win through holding some of the reels if not all of them. on occasions the machine will spin some of the medals in on one spin then next press spin in the remaining 1 or 2 medals for the big game which i find very strange. this gives the top feature without doing anything special and happens quite often and gives the most average player an easy 15 + . there could be some validity in pressing start rapidly when the machine is banking 15 on the top feature as it seems to give more but because it still gives 15 i slightly sceptical. if you miss the top feature even when the machine is backing, it isn't always likely to give it back quickly. on a session the machine offered the big game to some old timer who didn't have a clue to what he was doing, he managed to collect 2 and walked away and game of craps.
How did the capitalize on this absurd paradox?" i sighed. "oh, easy enough. to realize their plan they engaged in conspiracies large and small and have continued to do so for generations, almost as if the main orders were passed down from father to son. some conspiracies were obvious, as gross as the dropping of the a-bomb on nagasaki, others went to the simple suppression of certain books. we could not, for example, find a listing for john david garcia's "ethical society" after the year 1975. the book was simply absorbed by censorship." anna looked scholarly again. "you mean like the conspiracy to get tarzan, lord of the apes off the library shelves because tarzan and jane weren't married?" right again. anna was very supportive as she led me through her political science course. "i couldn't find joseph rheingold's the fear of being a woman either. i think the women's groups suppressed that." "you're not suggesting that the feminist liberation movement is behind excalibur are you?" "no, but why exclude anybody?" anna and i held hands as we laughed at the underlying cynicism in her argument. "according to the members of the bear lodge in waggery, wisconsin, the bill of rights was a communist document precisely because it granted too many freedoms to too many people." "well, hell that's basically everybody. so how does this relate to excalibur?" i asked. anna began her answer with a fine hurumph, as if i should have figured it out by now. "oh simple, i began to smell the same drippy vfw beer hall cult logic in the excalibur thing." "but excalibur has grown into a historical pacing mechanism. people remember their lives be before excalibur ; and ae after excalibur ; . in fact we are raising a generation of children who cannot remember a time when excalibur wasn't a topic of dinner conversation." anna was saddened by this reminder, "yes, it was also that way from 1940 to 1995 or so. two whole generations were raised not knowing peace, living under the threat of nuclear holocaust." "yeah our parents, for example. but how does this thing connect to secret societies? you make it sound like witchcraft." anna brightened a bit as she sipped the last of her ginseng gin, "hey you're not far off. it's a paradox. alasdair crumly, the black magician behind psionics, said it plain and simple: "do what thou wilt!" i grew animated, "i've heard of crumly. i managed to skim his entire collection at the warburg. eberhardt seminars, proudly traced their roots to psionics. it all links up. anna nodded in agreement. "yeah and to get clear on this plane you must donate your life savings, your life." "at the warburg i was able to trace a direct line of secret society crap from crumly all the way back to the inquisition. it was nerve wracking to think that cults like this could be so pernicious that they could grip whole families and turn.
Sun. sept. 2. further change of plans by ghq in middle of night. breakfast at 5: 45. carl got coffee & we ate k-rations. our car with curley the tough guy as driver. went to pier & bummed from 6: 15 to 11th a b band. about 7: 00 the japs came & got on a destroyer shigemitsu, umezu & 9 others. 6 thug jap m.p.'s also there. hard, cruel, hateful mugs, under excruciating humiliation as we stared at them. lots of fun off at 7: 30 the nicholas. down to yokosuka & went alongside the missouri. with us were, spaatz, kenney, kruger, eichelberger, richardson, blaney, leclerc, helferich, van ogen, the russians, australians, canadians, etc. i took a crap & then went on deck. Key west, florida; 15, 382 miles. february 29, 1987 we're still alive. still on the road. still nomads. but everything is different! the miles pass quickly now, with gasoline disappearing into the great hungry maw of the mighty winnebuso at the rate of a quart every two and a half minutes. the bikes live in the back, the attic is an old camper shell, and the lifestyle is a melange of trade shows, talk shows, hamfests, highways, and construction projects. i own cabinets, power tools, and a toaster. and camping, once a chancy escapade of billowing fabrics and makeshift cooking facilities, is now a daily routine of converting my plywood desk into a cozy 45 square-foot bed and collapsing. that's a lot of bunk. ; yup, the computing across america book is at last a reality, and the media tour is underway. as a first step in bringing this long-overdue story up-to-date, here are some notes written over a month ago. behind bob fischer's used-car lot in titusville: * january 11, 1988. the smells of fresh-cut firply and musty carpeting fill the air. music: classic king crimson, melancholy and deeply familiar whether from hours of electric 70's synesthesia or from some taproot of common humanity i can but speculate ; . other sounds: florida rain on a steel roof, highway 1 rumbling through the interstices of rock-medieval syncopation, maggie having a go at drilling sheet steel, a refrigerator compressor clunking at odd moments as the desk light flickers. yes, this is a change of pace alright: life in a forgotten used car lot. our world is a blend of funky old schoolbus under renovation and an abandoned garage that could use a good dose of same. laying about are piles of old floor mats, dead batteries, broken antennas, curious entubated components of once-humming detroit engines, and my own dusty plywood leavings. engines. oh no. i own one now. a 350, they tell me, which will haul this old boat at 7-8 miles per gallon, clanking in places, slipping its clutch, and running a bit hot. an engine? moi? but. but. the days have been a blur of spending sprees in titusville's hardware and rv stores: like a junior homeowner i browse the aisles, watching for deals on bullet lights and saber saw blades. today at the locally infamous frontenac flea market a sort of plebeian mall ; , i made off with a pack load of heavy crap i would have passed without a glance three weeks ago. yes, change is in the air--and it carries a complex fragrance of melancholy and excitement. for even as i fill notebooks and spreadsheets with plans and schemes, i struggle to hold onto the past like one who has been awakened too quickly from a deeply erotic dream. it slips away, subtly: the dream becoming fantasy, the fantasy becoming desperate rational recall that wilts any trace of hypnopompic.
Commitments when it assumed stewardship of the dallas county plant deal, which included existing architectural designs for the planned buildings. second, the need for bomber aircraft presented itself only when construction at dallas was nearly complete. the president's 50, 000-plane goal primarily involved building trainer and fighter aircraft to combat germany and japan's known capabilities, which did not include heavy bombers. finally, plancor #25 had excess land available for additional construction. it is possible that the war department incorporated north american in its expanded bomber production program because plancor #25 had room for additional facilities and was capable of accommodating the manufacturing demands. nevertheless, it is impossible to confirm whether the 1943 expansion of plancor #25 was planned prior to the emergency shortages of heavy bombers in 1941 and craps systems.

Maximum field strength around the axis, the coils in stronger field have a lower current. the operation current, at high field slots, for 4.0 t is expected to be 280 a. on the other hand the operation current of the direct wind type is 430 a. the reason of high field in the end section of direct wind type is its yoke geometry. the point at which the high peak occurs is covered by the yoke. if the length of the yoke is shorter, the strength of peak field can be reduced.
[jones]. i knew them all, but it was the first time we worked together. and nancy. it was a thrill to hear her come into my earphones, she was singing so great." bertoncini makes an interesting observation about this singer whose record-selling numbers were right up there with frank sinatra's. "i think nancy wilson is the most underrated singer in the universe. she is a star, no question about it. but she should be like the real major singers. .the giants like ella and sarah. nancy should have been right up there. i've been on a lotta albums with a lotta singers and i've probably appeared on a thousand albums for various reasons. but nancy's is the album i always tell people to get. .i'm extremely proud of being a part of that." a mention of one of wilson's signature songs, her debut single, "guess who i saw today", turns conversation with her to other singers. she remembers talking about that song with carmen mcrae, whose memorable earlier version wilson first listened to when she was 15. revealing an acute talent for mimicry, wilson suddenly conjures mcrae's voice to remark drolly, "there was no doubt in my mind where you heard it. i knew you didn't hear it from eydie gorme." which recollection evokes a huge laugh from wilson. her sense of sisterhood with "all the ladies" is evident as she reminisces fondly about ella and sarah and dinah washington gifting her with her first pair of jeweled shoes. it carries over to an enthusiastic interest in her fellow grammy nominees from last year. "roberta gambarini i know because she does things with the dizzy band. and nancy king, lew matthews, my conductor knows her." awards and honorary doctorates continue to accumulate. wilson's musical knowledge and relationships with musicians have, since 1995, made her the perfect host for national public radio's jazz profiles series. for nearly a decade she's been associated with mcg jazz, a record company and a social enterprise supporting youth education programs, which fits perfectly with wilson's longstanding involvement in social issues, including hiv aids. in a sudden, impassioned outburst wilson says, ".and this homophobic crap has got to stop, " when speaking about how members of the black and latino communities need to come forward and deal with relevant issues. though she's no longer touring, her concert schedule remains busy and wilson is definitely not retiring. a followup to her latest grammy-winner is already in the works as she searches for new songs. wilson relishes working with big bands and promises, "i want the dizzy gillespie all star big band" to do at least one or two tunes on each cd i do. they lift the spirit of the album up. we just have a ball." her love of musicmaking undiminished, she practically sings her comment as she raves, ".what's going on is some of the younger musicians are rearranging some of the tunes. there's a different take and some of the charts are just -----oooooooh. .and gerald wilson! puleeeeeeeeze. i mean i have no words!" k for more information, visit missnancywilson . wilson celebrates her 70th birthday at carnegie hall jun. 29th as part of the jvc jazz festival. see calendar. recommended listening and winning craps.

Two brothers in the york, pennsylvania, area have been smashingly unsuccessful in stealing atms. the two backed a pickup through the plate glass window at a local market and tried to hitch an atm to the truck. they failed. a few days later they went back to the same market and backed their truck through the plywood covering the broken window. again they failed. undeterred, they waited a day or so, then targeted a different atm. the determined duo backed their vehicle up to a farm store, smashed the window with a hammer, hitched the atm to their truck and drove away dragging the atm behind them. when the atm skidded and hit a parked car, the boys took off without their prize. the persistent punks, still hoping for success, waited a few months, then went back to their original crime scene at the market. again, they drove through the plate-glass window, this time succeeding in hitching the atm to the truck and driving off, the machine suspended in the air behind them. alas, when they opened the atm, it was empty. why the crime spree? when arrested, the boys told the judge they needed the money to pay court costs associated with previous cases. the pair was also charged with stealing a number of cars and trucks, some of them for use in ramming and knocking over atms.

But let us take a look at innocent games and see just how innocent they are. the simplest is romping. it is common to animals, children and men. it consists in giving free rein to over-abundant or forcibly contained energy. walking, climbing, sliding, scuffling and shouting -- all these are harmless and healthy. but a distinction must be made between innocent games and forbidden ones. as soon as an organ becomes excited and takes liberties for the sole purpose of pleasure, play turns into perversion. that is why the most innocent of games is nevertheless a venial vice. play is pleasant insofar as it is exciting and is exciting insofar as it intoxicates. it becomes necessary in disciplined and mannerly life as an antidote against the poison of constraint. so a consideration of romping throws light on the first characteristics of play: dangerous excess, latent vice.
